In the holy trinity of skiing at Aspen, Snowmass is the bomb.

With his chill, hippie brother Highland on the one hand, and his glitzy, glamourous, living-the-American-dream uncle Aspen on the other, Snowmass, strong and friendly, humble yet adventurous, is the most well-rounded in the family.

Snowmass takes it easy. He knows he comes from good genes and has a good build. He doesn’t workout as much as his uncle but he feels no need to dress up with bells and whistles in order to attract fans.

Snowmass is kind of a dude. He isn’t up for taking the same risks as his brother Highland, at least he doesn’t want to spend the whole day focused on one task, he would rather explore, hang out a little.

And while Snowmass likes speed, and to be challenged, he would rather play in the snow than race his buddies down a steep pitch. You can try and provoke Snowmass and while he might bear his teeth, he rarely gets bitchy.

Kids really love Snowmass. They feel comfortable and safe spending the whole day playing around him. Snowmass has in fact taught a lot of kids how to rip it up and you may see them dropping cliffs on telemark skis. (I had my cell phone ready to call 911 but the crazy kid landed and just bounced by the boulders as if they just made the landing look cooler).

But while Snowmass is a family oriented kind of guy, he likes to get away from it all which is easy for him to do. Snowmass’s home is surrounded by trees, gentle slopes and steeper chutes. There are great bowls and open glades that Snowmass can see from one of his many sensible cars.

Snowmass’s backyard is usually pretty busy since people have heard he throws a good party, but the party is a relaxed kind of affair. A party for everyone, and everyone has a good time. No one leaves early, feels left out or doesn’t get a piece of cake.

Snowmass likes to cook, but nothing too fancy. He prefers to get meals over with in order to get back out enjoying the great outdoors. He has a nice terrace where he likes to grab a beer but only while the suns out - once it dips behind the mountains, Snowmass turns in.

You’d be lucky to meet Snowmass. I’m sure you’d get along and become fast and longtime friends.
